Going to the Dance
by Taichi Yagami
Yamato was a beautiful blonde with pretty jewel blue eyes who always dressed really nice. He looked best in black, but was really hot in blue too, because it went really well with his eyes. Alot of the people at school liked to look at Yamato, the girls wanted to date him and the boys were jealous of him because the girls wanted to date him. But Yamato never dated girls because he didn't like girls, except for once and he'd dated her because she was a friend of his and more like a sister anyway.
So one day Yamato was at school and it was after school and he had band practice. So he went to the auditorium where his band would practice. Yamato played the bass guitar and he sang, and he had the most beautiful voice of anyone. The other guys were good too but Yamato was the best. Everyday when the band practiced, the girls would come and sit in the auditorium and watch and listen and sometimes make a lot of noise because they thought Yamato was really hot and they wanted him. Some of them liked the other guys in the band too. The girls were very irritating. But Yamato and the band had learned to ignore them because they were just girls and it was more important for them to practice. Sometimes when the band was done practicing, the girls would go to Yamato and ask him if he wanted to go on a date, because they were very rude, stupid and pushy girls. But Yamato always said no, because he didn't like girls, even though no one knew that except for one of the guys in the band who was the drummer and very nice.
But on this day, when Yamato was singing, he noticed there was a boy sitting in the back of the auditorium, away from the girls. And he was a kinda short boy with big poofy silly hair that was brown and he had some brown eyes. And he was wearing a soccer uniform. Yamato didn't know who the boy was because he had never seen him before, but he didn't think about it much because he was busy practicing and that was more important. Even though Yamato kind of liked it that a boy had come to watch practice instead of another dumb girl. When practice was over, some of the girls came to talk to him, but Yamato didn't care about them. He went up the aisle in the auditorium, past where the boy was sitting, but the boy was gone by that time, and maybe Yamato was a little disappointed.
But then there was a surprise! He'd just left school and was on his way home when he found the boy waiting for him on the sidewalk. And the boy smiled at him and said hi. So Yamato said hi back and asked him if he liked watching the practice.
And the boy said: "Yes, I did. I liked watching it alot. You sounded really wonderful when you sang."
Yamato thought that was nice of the boy to say, even though Yamato never thinks he sings good enough. He don't really think he's beautiful either, but he is. So he asked: "If you liked practice, why didn't you stay and say hi to me in the auditorium?"
The boy said: "Because every day all those girls pounce on you and say hi and ask you on dates and I didn't want to have to wade through them. So I waited to see you out here away from those girls."
Yamato like that too. He asked: "What's your name? I haven't seen you before."
The boy answered him, and he was smiling, and the smile looked nice on him, even though he wasn't really much of anything to look at. Just a kid with big poofy hair. "My name is Taichi. And I'm new around here. But I have come to see your band practice before, only I stayed by the door. I'm not shy, but I wanted to watch for awhile and make sure that you never accepted any dates with girls before I said hi, because if you liked girls and I asked you out, it would be very bad and you might not like me."
Yamato was surprised and said: "You want to ask me out?"
Taichi nodded. "Yep! There is a school dance on Friday, and I want to know if you will go to it with me. I'll be a very good date for you, Yamato. I've watched you since I came to this school and I know that I'll make you very happy."
Even though he didn't like girls, Yamato wasn't sure if he wanted to go on a date with a boy. And especially not to a school dance where everyone would see them, because he and the band wanted to make it really big and it might be bad for them if people knew Yamato liked boys. Plus he looked at Taichi and wasn't really impressed because Taichi had big hair and was wearing a soccer uniform that was dirty from practicing and Yamato didn't think that Taichi'd be very good at a dance because he didn't look very tidy. But even though Yamato wasn't sure, he liked Taichi because the boy was not shy and had been brave enough to come and ask him.
So, Yamato said: "Let me think about it."
After that, Yamato thought about it all the rest of the day and the next day, and when he had band practice, Taichi was there again in the auditorium. Yamato thought that was nice and smiled at Taichi, which was something Yamato didn't do very often, but it was very beautiful when he did, and it made Taichi very happy. After practice, Yamato went to the drummer in the band and asked what he thought. The drummer's name was Naraku and he was a good friend to Yamato. When Yamato told him about Taichi, Naraku said: "You should go with him if you like him."
Yamato said: "What about the band? If people see me with Taichi it might be bad for us."
And Naraku answered him: "Maybe, but if you don't go with Taichi, I think that'll make you unhappy, and that's bad for you."
Yamato wasn't convinced, but the next day he saw Taichi on the field playing soccer, and Yamato thought he looked very nice when he was running. He sat down in the stands next to his friend Sora (who was the girl he'd dated, even though she was just a friend), and he told her about Taichi's invitation to go to the dance and asked her what she thought.
Sora said: "I think if you like him, you should go with him and don't worry about it."
So, since two people told him he should, and because he did like Taichi even though he still didn't think Taichi'd be much good at a dance, Yamato agreed to go with him. That made Taichi very very happy, because he'd worried when it took so long for Yamato to answer, and he promised Yamato that they would have a very good time. Yamato hoped that they would, but he had to wonder and was a little worried about it.
The night of the dance, Yamato was suppose to meet Taichi at the door of the gym where the dance was being held. There were a lot of lights and loud music and most of the people from school were there. But no one looked as good as Yamato did. He was spectacular! He wore a black suit with a dark grey silk shirt and matching tie, and his reading glasses which made him even more sexy. He was so slim and lovely in that black suit, and his blonde hair was styled just right with not a strand out of place. He looked very cool and unconcerned as he waited by the door for Taichi to show up, but he was actually pretty nervous. This was the first time he was going out with another boy! There was plenty to be nervous about. A lot of people went past him as he was waiting and all the girls had to annoy him and tell him how handsome he looked. But handsome is an incredible understatement. Yamato was SURREAL, he was so gorgeous.
So, he was waiting and waiting and Taichi hadn't shown up yet. Yamato was starting to worry a little bit because he was afraid Taichi'd stood him up or something. But he was wrong, and he only had to wait a little bit longer to find out what was taking Taichi so long.
But first, this girl came up to him. She was kind of short and she had brown hair that was in two springy curled ponytails, with her bangs over her eyes and glitter in her hair. She was wearing a very cute outfit with a dark blue skirt that went to about her knees, and a corset that was tight around her waist that was black leather, but not gaudy leather. It was very soft looking. And the shirt she was wearing under the corset was like a poet's shirt and it was blue also and very pretty. She stopped by Yamato and smiled at him with her hands clasped in front of her. At first Yamato was annoyed because he was waiting for Taichi and didn't want to be bothered by another dumb girl.
But the girl said: "Sorry I'm late, Yamato." And she had Taichi's voice! And when Yamato looked closer, he saw that it was Taichi, except that he was dressed up like a girl, with soft glitter make-up on that was a pale blue and he was really pretty, so of course Yamato hadn't recognized him.
Yamato exclaimed: "Taichi! What are you doing dressed up like a girl?!"
Taichi explained why: "I knew that it'd hurt the band if you were seen with a boy, so that's why I dressed up. We can be together tonight, but no one will know who I am." And Taichi looked very hopeful, because he hoped that Yamato liked him this way.
Since Yamato was basically a hentai at heart, he did like it.... alot! And he was touched that Taichi had thought about the reputation of the band. That made him like Taichi much more too. So they went into the dance together and had a really great time, and all the stupid girls were jealous because they wondered who Yamato's new girlfriend was. Yamato and Taichi looked great together, and they had fun dancing, even though Taichi didn't really know the steps, but he learned quickly.
When the night was all over, they walked home together and held hands, and Taichi asked Yamato if he would like to be his boyfriend all the time. Because they'd gotten to know each other well during the dance, Yamato knew that he really liked Taichi and told him of course. That made Taichi so happy he had to hug his new boyfriend really hard and kiss him! Taichi thought Yamato was the most wonderful boy in the world, and even though Yamato wouldn't agree with him, Taichi knows it's true.
