"I mean, I don't even like girls . . . "

- Ranma (ep. Ranma the Lady-Killer!)

Ranma and Ryoga . . . together?  Well, of course, what could make more sense?

Ranma is constantly surrounded by desirable and eager young ladies, and yet he shows very little interest in any of them.  This makes no sense.  What kind of straight sixteen year old guy wouldn't be attracted to the likes of sexy sultry Shampoo or pretty honorable Ukyo?  Akane, Kodachi . . . he simply doesn't seem inclined toward any of them, and has repeatedly stated that he doesn't like girls. This begs the question - if he's not into the girls, then exactly where do his interests lie?

And why is it that every time Ryoga wanders back into town, Ranma is always happy to see him?

Ranma has a very unique relationship with Ryoga, one he shares with no one else.  They knew each other long before all of Ranma's matrimonial problems developed, and though they have developed into rivals - they also remain friends willing to help each other out, despite some bitterness and what they might say to the contrary.   They have stood side-by-side to face both enemies and impossible odds, and though Ranma has hit on most of the guys in the series at least once, he seems to concentrate a great deal of attention on Ryoga, even going so far as to pretend to be his fiancée.  Yes, he picks on and teases Ryoga a great deal, but what young men don't?  And didn't your mother ever tell you that the boys only tease because they like you?

And lastly, these two seem to end up naked in the bath together far more than should be socially acceptable.  ^^
