As a matter of
course, these two young Digi-Destined fight a great deal, usually when Tai is
putting the mission above the well-being of the group, but it is through their arguments
and brawls that Taichi and Yamato have forged their steadfast friendship.
Companions to the two most advanced and powerful digimon - Agumon and Gabumon -
the pair serve as the inspirational and cohesive pillars of the
Digi-Destined. When they are at odds, the group is often confused and
misdirected as well. But when they work together, they accomplish phenomenal
feats, and inspire the rest of the kids to greatness as well. Arguments for a relationship between these two are many, but the most obvious should be the above reasoning. When they are together, Taichi and Yamato form a tight bond and lead the Digi-Destined into victory. In fact, situations have occurred in which they were only able to triumph by being paired. But emotionally, these two balance each other as well. Yamato serves as a stabilizing factor to Taichi's eagerness, and Taichi is able to bring Yamato's feelings to the fore so that the introverted young man can confront them. As the series progresses, so too grows a sense of understanding between them, and eventually it can be noticed that they do not stray far from each other's sides. In fact, though all of the Digi-Destined grow emotionally during the course their adventures, most of the character-development time is devoted to Tai and Matt and their relationship with each other. |
